Technical Brief (July 2012)
Abstract:

This brief is designed to guide researchers in the study of HIV-related
stigma and discrimination, either as the main focus of research or as
a complement to related topics. It outlines the key domains of HIV-related
stigma and discrimination that need to be measured if we are to understand how stigma operates and how it can be reduced in a particular setting. The brief proposes specific questions for measuring the key conceptual domains of stigma and discrimination across three populations: people living with HIV, the general population and healthcare providers. It lists areas requiring further question
development, testing and validation.
