Abstract:

Presents the Priorities for Local AIDS Control Efforts (PLACE) method which was used to understand the risk factors that are putting adolescent girls (orphans and non-orphans) and young women 18-24 years of age at risk of acquiring HIV. Chapter 1 expounds the strategy itself. Chapter 2 is on Characteristics of Community Informants. Chapter 3 is on the Characteristics of Venues Where People Meet New Sexual Partners. Chapter 4 gives information on the Characteristics of People Who Socialize at Venues Where People Meet Sexual Partners. Chapter 5 gives the Household Survey of Orphan and Non-orphan Girls Age 12-17 Years. Chapter 6 then provides the conclusion.
