Abstract:
This publication gives information on how to strategise treatment of TB to people living with HIV. The first section looks at the impact of the disease and goes on to give preventive strategies themselves. Treatment scenarios by 2015 come next and the expenditure to be incurred per year. The section suggests what needs to be done to provide preventive treatment to pregnant women and children. The last part is on diagnostic methods and countries with the highest number of deaths from HIV-associated TB. The feasible ways of scaling up HIV testing and basic information on TB for beginners conclude the publication.
